Our approach has a singular focus: Improve the client's situation.

The foundation for our success is to use existing organizational talent to raise customer satisfaction and to execute business goals with greater expertise, knowledge, and confidence. We enable organizations to focus talent and resources outward and avoid the tendency under stress to “go inward”.

What We Do

These are only a few examples from our service with clients. They highlight specific engagements and not the full range of our relationship over the years for any one client.

Talent and Educational Course Design

For Minerals Technologies we designed developmental programs in topics ranging from new supervisor training to presentation skills for international audiences using proprietary assessments, custom software simulations, multi-media learning materials, and facilitator-led sessions. These programs have included in-room coaching and direct participation by the CEO and executive team, and serve to  accurately assess and design future talent development plans for managers at all levels worldwide.

Strategy Formulation

For Tastemaker we provided a strategy formulation process which we facilitated for the global management team, enabling the organization to allocate priorities and resources based upon a comprehensive, global business concept. One of the results has been to allow the organization to maintain its entrepreneurial nature while implementing basic systems necessary to maintain quality during dramatic growth.

Service, Quality, and Customer Relationships

For Productive Plastics we designed and helped execute a program for accurately evaluating the level of customer satisfaction with quality and service. We then coached the executives on improved relationship-building and designed a “tour” that helped save specific existing accounts and ultimately grow the business, geographically and financially.

Human Resources Strategies

For Computer Sciences Corporation we evaluated related training and development capabilities consistent with corporate business goals, then assisted in the design of a strategy which focused on measurable accomplishment of specific high-priority business goals. This resulted in creating a curriculum and talent track based upon business outcomes, linking human resource activity with business results.

Organization Redesign

For PECO Energy, working closely with the Vice President of Engineering, we helped to re-design a new organizational structure that maximized performance of existing talent. We developed a talent plan and implementation to assess, identify, communicate, and proved the methodology in which roles could be redefined with the players able to move—or be moved—into the best-fit alignment. As a result of its success, the VP and Steve were invited to present the process at a global industry conference.

Innovative Solutions

For AstraZeneca we designed and implemented training for its Regulatory Affairs group to expand members’ capabilities with FDA interactions following an FDA announcement to become more participatory with its regulated companies. Working first with managers and then their teams, we evaluated the existing repertoire of communication and influencing approaches. This led to the design and delivery of a combination of coaching and training workshops--with management involvement--to expand the behavioral and influencing skills of department members with their FDA counterparts.

CEO Succession

For a NYSE corporation we designed and assisted in implementing a successful CEO succession process. Working with the Board of Directors, Chairman, and VP-HR we developed a focused set of selection criteria measured against strategy; identified and coordinated the assessment systems; and created a series of activities to gain in-depth knowledge of both internal and external candidates. The methodology led to a change in the original, early perceptions of “best candidate” and resulted in a now-proven and productive choice.

Cross-Culture and Global Business

For Janssen we designed a combination of instruction and coaching for high potential executives needing to become more effective at communicating within different geographic cultures.   The concern was being able to bridge the gaps in personal style, local style, and energy level. By working together on specific, real-life presentations and meeting agendas, the executives were able to change approach, behavior, and visual support that received the attention of their managers and impacted both their professional value and internal careers.

Steve Roesler Factoids

Steve once made 59 speeches in 63 days while on a business speaking gig across the entirety of  South Africa. He fainted from exhaustion on day 61 in front of an audience of 3,000. When he awoke, he received a standing ovation. Steve is thinking of making this a regular part of his practice.

Steve coached the first African-American finalist, Miss New Jersey, in the Miss America Pageant.

 

 

More Curious Facts...

Steve once conducted sales presentation training for Pfizer with the participants being flown in from China and Brasil. Neither group spoke English. The two days were simultaneously translated in both languages and proved that a combination of design, focused graphics, and modeled activities can actually help you to bump up your game.
